My Truths #113 (roasted almonds)

Don’t pay a premium for dry roasted almonds from the grocery store. I purchased a large bag of raw almonds at Costco recently. They were surprisingly inexpensive for the quantity. They’re tasty straight of the bag but they don’t have that crunchy roasted flavour and texture that I prefer. Luckily, that’s an easy problem to fix. You see, you can roast your own almonds for the best flavor.  Simply spread raw almonds in a single layer on an ungreased cookie sheet and roast in at 350 F for 10 minutes until fragrant. Remove from oven, let cool. NOTE: Be careful not to over roast. They will continue to cook for a bit even after you take them out of the oven.  

Voila… freshly roasted and you saved money too! Just remember to store them in the fridge in an air tight container to keep them from turning rancid and ensure you get the maximum nutritional value.
