My Truths #90 (clothes too big?)

by Stephanie

One of the rewards of slimming down is new clothes. Whether you’re losing weight and/or replacing fat with muscle eventually you will get to a point where your old clothes are too big. What a great feeling! Now if you’re spending your hard earned money buying real food such as organic produce and pastured meat there may not be a lot of money left in the budget for a 5th Ave shopping spree but I’ll let you in on my little secret…gently used second hand clothing! I love the hunt, the uniqueness and especially the prices. Don’t forget that it’s also a form of recycling.

I live in Atlantic Canada and we have several options for second hand clothing: Frenchys, Value Village and consignment shops. It’s retail therapy at its best. 100% of the satisfaction with only 10% of the guilt. There’s nothing better than having clothes that fit properly. Maybe you’re in the middle of a weight loss regimen and don’t want to splurge on new jeans now knowing you’re still losing weight. My advice is don’t wait. Find yourself a thrift shop and find a pair of jeans that fit and flatter your new figure. It will make you feel like a million bucks…luckily it will only cost a tiny fraction of that.
