My Truths #5 (fruit)

Sugar in all forms can stall your weight loss effort or even make you gain weight. That includes the natural sugar in fruit.  You may be saying to yourself “Fruit has been around forever. It’s natural and healthy”. Yes but keep in mind that typically people only ate local fruit that was in season. They didn’t have access to it year round like we do now or from such distance and exotic places. Also, today’s fruit has also been engineered to be much sweeter than wild and heirloom varieties. Today’s fruit can be a high source of carbs. Eat fruit in moderation when you’re trying to lose weight. Apples, citrus fruit and berries tend to be the smartest choices. Grapes, mangoes and pineapples are among the worst.
